DITA topic type variable Author-it 5.0 to 5.2

To enable the correct DITA topic type to be determined by the transformation application, you need to create a variable in the Author-it library. You cannot create variables by importing XML so you need to create this variable using the Author-it Administrator.

• To create the <dita_topic_type> variable:

1. From Author-it Administrator, open your library.

2. From the main menu go to Variables > Maintain Variables.

   The Manage Variables window opens.

   

3. Click the Add button.

   The Variable Default Settings window opens.

   

   Create a List of Values type variable with the following values:

   • Topic

   • Task

   • Concept

   • Reference

   The default value should be topic.

4. Click OK to save the variable.

Then assign the variable to the DITA topic templates with the following values:
