Accordion slides in Honeycomb

Publishing

Use accordion slides in Honeycomb courses to explain a set of related topics. For example, the accordion can expand to display topics that explain your product or service. When the learner clicks a topic, Honeycomb displays an image of a specific item or concept. The learner can choose to expand topics, one at a time, in any order, to explore the different items or concepts.

Honeycomb supports two types of accordion slides:

  • Horizontal

  • Vertical

  • To create an accordion slide:

To add either type of accordion to a course:

  1. Create the slide topic (parent) based on the Accordion Horizontal or Accordion Vertical template.

  2. Place the slide topic at Level 1 in the book contents.

  3. For each accordion tab, create a content topic based on any template (except the special Honeycomb templates) or re-use an existing topic.

  4. Place the content topic as a child element to the slide topic.

For an accordion horizontal slide, these topic titles must be 32 characters or less, so it fits in the published Honeycomb courses available space.

This example shows how your slide structure would look when the slide and elements are placed correctly.
