While some dictionaries are provided with Author-it Cloud, you may be working in a language that isn't provided or have a word list more relevant to what you are writing.
In this case, you can create your own dictionary for any single byte language, provided you have a small word list, a word list, and a character map.
-
Open Command Prompt.
-
Use the CD command to change to a directory containing a small word list, word list, and character map.
For example: CD C:\Users\AOrtha\Documents\Dictionaries\ACME
-
Run the SpellTime merge utility on your word list.
For example: "[drive:][path]\SpellTime\merge35" wordlist.txt
The merge utility creates a series of dictionary files, D35_A to D35_Z, based on your word list.
-
Run the SpellTime comp utility.
For example: "[drive:][path]\SpellTime\comp35"
The comp utility creates four files called dict35.
-
In Author-it Cloud, go to Files > Common > CompanyShare > Dictionaries.
-
Add a new folder.
-
Rename the folder to the name of the dictionary you're adding.
-
Add the dict35 files you created earlier to the folder:
-
dict35.d
-
dict35.i
-
dict35.s
-
dict35.map
The dictionary is now available in your Spelling Options.
