Users with Security Administrator-level access can edit the information that appears in a Variable at any time. In Author-it Cloud, variables are maintained through Author.
To edit a variable:
- Open the library in Author, and then select File > Manage Variables. The Variables window opens and lists the variables used by the library.
- Select a variable and then:
- Click the Properties button to display its properties.

- Right-click and then click Properties.
-or-
- Double-click the Variable.
The Variable default settings window opens.
- Click the Properties button to display its properties.
- Make your changes.
Note: The variable name may only contain the characters 0-9, a-z, A-Z and _ (underscore). The name cannot include a pipe (|) or semi colon (;). These characters are reserved for use in the command line syntax.
- Click OK to save the changes to the Variable.
