Structured authoring is based on a collection of rules that define how content can be used in a book or topic. A major benefit of Author-it's approach to structured authoring is the requirement to understand XML tagging has been removed. Create the rules in a wizard-like structure builder and assign them to a template - each object based on the template inherits the structure. Then create the content as normal in the Editor, without the need to include any XML tagging.
Implement structured authoring in any library. By using the methodology when you are creating a new library, you ensure all the content validates from the initial installation, or you can convert an existing library. The biggest requirement when converting existing content is that you take time to create a thorough implementation plan.
Use Author to create the templates, as well as for creating and validating content.
