When using the Library Explorer, you can preview the content of Topic objects and File objects without having to open them, and preview the formatting used in the Editor (set in the Style object's General tab).
Click Author > Show > Show object preview to turn the Preview Pane on or off. You can set the preview pane to display content below or to the right of the object list.
