Add rotator tiles to a Magellan landing page

Magellan user guide

A Magellan site landing page can optionally contain a Landing Page Rotator. It comprises:

  • The Landing Page Rotator topic.

    This topic should remain empty.

  • Sub-topics for each tile in the rotator.

These topics can contain text, images and a single hyperlink. This hyperlink becomes the link from the whole tile. The target of the hyperlink can be to any page or object inside or outside the generated site. Any other hyperlink in the topic is published as ordinary text with no link.

Caution: The book for your Magellan site must contain a topic based on the [LandingPageRotator] template. Removing this topic will cause your content tiles to be empty. If you don't want a landing page rotator, remove all topics that are a level below the [LandingPageRotator] topic.

  1. In the Magellan book, create a topic based on the [LandingPageRotator] template.

  2. Use the green arrows on the book contents toolbar to adjust its position to below the Landing Page topic, and as a sub-topic.

Do not add any content to this topic. It will not appear on the landing page.

  3. For each rotator tile, create a new topic based on the [LandingPageRotatorItem] template.

  4. Use the green arrows to adjust its position to below the Landing Page Rotator topic, and as a sub-topic.

  5. Enter the information you want to appear in the rotator tile to the topic. Include a hyperlink to another topic in the site, or an external page.

If using a hyperlink template that is set on the Web tab to open in a new window, links to topics within the site are opened in the same browser tab, and links to external websites open in a new browser tab.

  6. Add more topics in the same way for each rotator tile.
