You can permanently delete variant objects from the library. The variant object can be deleted without having to break the relationship to its primary object.
If a primary object only has one variant object, when you delete that variant object Author-it removes the green icon from the primary object and it reverts back to an ordinary object.

Select the variant object in the Library Explorer object list.

Right-click the object and and in the drop-down list click Delete.

Click Yes in the confirmation message box.
