Depending on the preview options you have selected, the Preview pane displays:
- A preview of the object content if you select a topic, file object, or style object
- A list of the selected object's edit history record
- The object's properties
Select a file object, style object, topic or embedded topic from the Object List to display the image or text in the preview pane. Selecting other objects displays their properties in the preview pane.
Athough, you cannot edit a topic or book directly in the preview pane, you can right-click and open it from a shortcut menu. Using the shortcut menu on any embedded topics, file objects, or hyperlink objects in that topic also opens that topic.
Use the shortcut menu in the Preview pane on file objects or hyperlink objects to open that object.
Display the Preview pane below, or to the right of the object list.
