Confirm the mapping

Migrating to Author-it Cloud

In the third step check that the mappings you made in the previous screen are correct. If you need to make any changes, go back to the previous screen and edit the paths. When you move to the screen following the confirmation you are committing your mapped pathways.

This step checks the files in the folders referenced in the path mapping and identifies the files currently used by objects in the library versus additional files in the folders. The confirmation screen has two columns:

  • Source Path: Lists the name of each external file to be copied from your current folder locations. File paths are displayed using:
    • black text The files in the folders that will be copied to your Resources or Templates folders, and are referenced by objects in the library (the file is in the folder, is referenced by objects in the Library, and will be added to the zip file) or,
    • orange text these are files that will be copied to your Resources or Templates folders, but are not referenced by any objects in the library (the file is in the folder but is not referenced by an object in the Library; however, the file will still be added to the zip file in case it is needed in the future).

Note: If you selected the Copy All option in the previous screen, all files in the folder are copied to your zipped folder. This option ensures all files in the folder are copied even if the files were not explicitly mapped in the previous screen. Copy All is the default setting for each mapping entry under Templates but needs to be selected in each mapping entry under Resources.

  • Destination Path: Lists the corresponding path and folder for your files in Author-it Cloud.

To confirm the mapping:

  1. Check the paths carefully. If you want to change a path click Previous to move back to the Path Mapping screen and edit the mapping. Then use the Next button to return to this screen.

  2. Click Copy when you are satisfied that all mappings are correct.

When the action has completed, a log displays showing the copy action for each file, or a message in red if the referenced file doesn't exist in the folder. The CMT also creates the Resources and Templates folders with copies of the the files and adds them to your CMT folder. Any changes to the folder paths are updated in the Library.

  3. Click Next to move to the next step and load the Archive Files Import Form.
