New users receive a Welcome email with user details (in this case, your email address) and a link for configuring your new password. The link to the password expires in seven days, so reset it as soon as possible after receiving the email.
Note: We recommend using an Outlook email address to create your account. Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo accounts do not accept the Welcome email.
After receiving your Welcome email and updating your password for Author-it Cloud, check your user details on the Profile page.
A note on usernames and email addresses
You can use either your username or email address in the User Name field when you are logging in to Author-it Cloud.
- Your username is generated automatically. The username is your account alias, a period, the initial for your first name, and your surname. In the example above, the username is "acme.aortha". The username is limited to the first 20 letters of this combination. Your username and email address are shown in the Author-it Cloud portal on your Profile page.
- Your email address is the email address assigned for your use by your company. It is added to your profile by your Cloud Security Administrator.
Note: The password you choose must conform to the Author-it Cloud password policy.
Once you have completed your registration, you can start using Author-it Cloud.
