To make endnotes appear in your published content, you need to create a topic at the end of your book in which your references appear on publication. To maintain consistency across all your topics, create an endnote template topic.

Author-it best practice also suggests that you create a reference topic and add it to a common use folder for your authors to reuse, or add it to a book template so it automatically appears as a topic in the book.

To create an endnote topic template:

  1. Create a new topic based on (none).
  2. Select the Make this object an object template check box.
  3. On the Print tab, select the Make this an endnote topic check box.
  4. Select the appropriate numbering option for your endnotes.
  5. Click OK or Apply to save.
