Migrating to Author-it Cloud

Starting point

The process starts with liaising with your Author-it PreSales Consultant who will discuss the requirements for migration, and ensure that you understand the procedure.

The consultant will set up a Trial Account for you, which you can use for a test run of the migration process for your library. When you are ready to go ahead with your actual migration, you'll overwrite this preliminary database with your migrated content.

The procedure is in three phases:

Migration 3 Step Process

  1. Prepare for your migration.
  2. Migrate the data by running Author-it Cloud Migration Toolkit on a copy of your database, and then uploading the output zip files plus a copy of your updated database for Author-it to configure in Author-it Cloud.

    We recommend running through a test migration first using an extra copy of your database so you can see the process in action and try mapping files and objects without affecting your migration data.

  3. Once you've created your Author-it Cloud account and the database is ready, you'll import users and activate their accounts.
