Author-it Presentations

After you complete your setup you're ready to publish and view the sample slide show.

Publishing the slide show

  • Publish the sample presentation in Author
    1. From the Library Explorer right-click on the Author-it Sample Presentation Book and choose Publish > Publish To > Web, then choose the publishing profile you've created for slide shows, or publish to HTML or XHTML.

    2. With the book open in the Editor, choose Publish > Publish To > Web, then choose the publishing profile you've created for slide shows, or publish to HTML or XHTML.
    3. The system automatically sends you a notification email afer the publish job has been completed.
  • Publish the sample presentation in Contribute
    1. Locate the book in the Folder or Search object list.
    2. From the book's right-click menu, click Publish Book...
    3. In the Publishing pane select the publishing profile you created for slide shows, or publish to HTML or XHTML.
    4. Use the publishing actions in Contribute's publishing pane to access the files.

Viewing the slide show

  • View the sample presentation online
    1. From the notification email or from the Publishing pane in Contribute click View.
    2. The presentation opens in your default browser.
    3. Put the browser in full screen mode.
    4. Hide any menus, toolbars, and status bars so the slide occupies the full screen.
    5. Click the Play button play button on the Control bar to start the slide show.
  • Download and view the sample presentation locally
    1. From the notification email or from the Publishing pane in Contribute click Download.
    2. Extract the zipped contents to a new folder.
    3. Open the folder, then double click the index.htm file to open it in your default browser.
    4. Set your browser to full screen view.
    5. Hide any menus, toolbars, and status bars so the slide occupies the full screen.
    6. Click the Play button play button to start the slide show.

Note: The default templates supplied have been created for viewing using 1024 x 768 screen resolution. To view the presentation correctly set your screen resolution to match.
