For Author and Contribute, the means of activating and deactivating Author roles is manual.

Note: User IDs can be deactivated but never deleted.

  1. Select Organization from the cloud portal.

    In the resulting screen you can see under Statistics how many licenses are available for new Authors.

  2. Under the Author Activation section, in the Inactive Authors column locate and click to choose the user you would like to activate
  3. Click the Add button to move them to the Active Authors column.

Note: Authors can be grouped by the user group they were assigned to or ungrouped to have an alphabetic list of users.

Important: If you deactivate the one active Administrator, it will log you out and prevent you from logging back in. You will receive a warning message from the system before being allowed to do this.

Author Activation

Note: Reviewer-only users do not display in the Author section of the Organization screen unless they are also assigned an Author role.
