Language options when publishing to Windows Help or HTML Help

When publishing to Windows Help or HTML Help, the help compilers require the Windows Locale to be set correctly for non-western European languages. This ensures characters such as question marks don't replace your content in the published output.

Message:

"System default locale does not match library language. Please alter your library language in Author-it Administrator, or your Regional and Language Options in Control Panel."

Solution:

  1. Change the language in Author-it Administrator.
  2. Open the Regional and Language Options and change the language for non-Unicode programs.
    • In Vista choose Administrative and change the language under Language for non-Unicode programs.
  3. Restart your computer, and then re-open the library in Author-it.

Message:

"User locale does not match library language. Please alter your library language in Author-it Administrator, or your Regional and Language Options in Control Panel."

Solution:

  1. Change the language in Author-it Administrator.
  2. Open the Regional and Language Options and change the language under Standards and formats.
    • In Vista choose Formats > Change system locale and change the language under Current format.
    • Re-open the library in Author-it.
