Modify styles for presentations

Author-it presentations work a little differently from the online outputs because you modify the styles in style sheets, not in the style objects. The attributes defined in the style sheets are used when you publish your presentation.

When you create the presentation topics in your library, apply styles to the text as normal, for example using Body Text, List Bullet, and Special Bold. However, because of their intended use, the style attributes used in a slide show presentation are different from those in a webpage. Instead of having to either change the attributes for style objects each time you want to publish a presentation or publish an HTML page, or having to create a new set of style objects specifically set up for the presentations, the style attributes for the presentation are taken from pre-defined style sheets.

Three style sheets define style attributes:

Style Sheet

Styles

title.css

The style attributes in the title.css are specific to the title slide:

  • Heading 1
  • Sub Title

slide.css

The style attributes in the slide.css are specific to the slide:

  • Heading 1
  • Sub Title

presentation.css

The default presentation.css contains the style attributes for all available styles used in the slide content:

  • Body Text
  • Body Text Centered
  • Body Text Right
  • Emphasis
  • Heading 2
  • List Bullet
  • List Bullet 2
  • List Number
  • Special Bold
  • Sub Heading

The title.css and slide.css also contain a body.slide style that defines attributes for the slide background image.

Style attributes are modified directly in the style sheets.
