Variant options - On Premises 6.4

Author-it Knowledge Center

The following Variant commands can be found in the ribbon under Author > Variants, and in the Editor under Edit > Variants or when you right-click an object in the Library Explorer's object list.

Variant filter

The Filter is used to filter the objects in the folder list by using the filter in the Library Explorer's Author tab, or to filter the objects in the book by using the filter in the books Edit tab. You can also open the Variant Criteria window and create custom filters.

Variant commands

The options shown in the Variant command group for folders depend on the object selected in the object list; the commands shown in the Editor depend on the topic opened in the book. For example, the Convert and Edit options swap depending on the object (refer to the table), and the Remove option is active in the Library Explorer when a variant object is selected.
