Variant criteria search

The criteria search enables you to quickly find variant criteria groups or criteria values in the Available Criteria pane.

1. Open the Select Filter Criteria window:

   • From the Library Explorer, click Author > Variants > Filter > Custom...

   • From the book, click Edit > Variants > Filter > Custom...

2. Type at least one letter from the variant criteria group name or the value, and then click the Search button next to the Variant Criteria field.

   

3. Select a value in the search results list.

   

Depending on whether you searched for a criteria group name or a criteria value, the following occurs:

Searching for a criteria group name:

• The variant group expands in the Available Criteria pane. You can then select the value and add it to the Associated Criteria pane.

  Searching for a criteria value:

• If you have searched for a criteria value, and that group has not been used in the Associated Criteria pane, then the value is automatically added to the Associated Criteria pane.

• If the group has been used in the Associated Criteria pane, then the group expands in the Available Criteria pane. You can add or change the value in the Associated Criteria pane.
