Active Suggestions

  • Minimum number of words typed before suggesting: Sets the minimum number of words that need to match before Author-it Xtend begins returning suggestions. Choose from 3 words to 100 words. To display more suggestions, set the field to a lower number.
  • Maximum number of suggestions: Sets the maximum number of suggestions that will be displayed in the reuse pop-up. Choose a number between 3 and 100.
  • Only suggest fragments with a percentage match of at least: Sets the minimum level of similarity required before a suggestion is displayed in the reuse pop-up. Choose a percentage value between 10 and 100.

Weighting Ratio Slider

Use the slider to choose the type and level of match you want to use.

  • Fuzzy matching: Looks at the similarity of the fragments, and makes a comparison based on words common to both fragments and the order in which they appear in both fragments.
  • Relevance matching: Looks at the similarity of the fragments and makes a comparison based on words common to both fragments. Relevance matching does not take into account the order of the words. Relevance matching returns a larger number of suggestions, but may be less precise.

Similarity Highlighting

  • Text fragment highlighting: Displays the highlighting bands used by Author-it Xtend to indicate reused content and levels of similarity between fragments. Highlighting colors can be modified, and additional user-defined fuzzy match bands can be added.
