The front and back matter use the objects listed below. All of these objects can provide localized text (or an image for the title page) for the published output. When publishing, Author-it checks for variants by using the locale variant value. If a variant exists, then the localized text from the variant is used in the output.
TOC, TOF, Glossary, and Index
For the following objects, you'll create a variant of the template for each locale. Then you'll open the variant and update the following fields:
- Table of Contents
Print and Web tabs: Table of contents title text
- Table of Figures
Print tab: Table of figures title text
- Glossary
All tabs: Glossary title text
- Index
Print and Web tabs: Index title text
Title Page
When publishing to print-based outputs, the title page image is taken from the Title Page object.
Note: The text used in the title page is taken from the book's print tab during publishing.
For the title page, you have the option of creating a variant of the template or of a title page object.
- Print tab: Image file
- Localize the template variant: If a localized version of the graphic is used in the print output's title page, and you use the same image across your documents in your source language.
- Localize the object variant: If a localized version of the graphic is used in the print output's title page, and you use different images across your documents in your source language.
