By this stage of the import process, Author has preprocessed your document, and is ready to import it into your library. The preview screen lets you:
- See and change the styles that will be applied to paragraphs and text.
- See in the tree view how your imported document will be broken into topics.
- Change the structure of the topics.
The preview shows both the original formatting (without rules applied) and the formatting that Author will use (with rules applied).

| Edit the rules in the profile, or right-click and choose Edit Rules from the shortcut menu. Use this option to change the sequence of the rules, or to add further rules to the profile. |
| Edit the settings in the profile, or right-click and choose Edit Profile from the shortcut menu. Use this option to change the way graphics will be imported, or how new objects will be created. |
| Toggle the display between how the document appears with style mapping rules applied and the document's original formatting. Alternatively, right-click and choose Apply Rules to enable or disable Author-it's style mapping. |
When formatting has not been picked up by the existing rules, you can easily create new rules. These new rules can be saved with the profile later, and used to import similar documents.
