HTML-based tools usually emphasize a designer's rather than an author's needs. HTML authoring tools don't share Author-it's object-oriented technology, which enables you to reuse components of your document, and they don't have Author-it's collaborative authoring features.
HTML-based tools also don't enable you to produce the range of output formats available when you use Author-it.
