How do I know where to start a new topic?

FAQs

In Author-it, each chunk of your document is called a topic. Each topic usually contains only one heading and the paragraph or paragraphs that follow it, until the next heading is encountered. Keeping topics small makes them easier to reuse flexibly, and also produces more readable and navigable output in on-screen formats. When you're importing a document into Author-it, your document will be split into topics automatically for each heading. Editing, rearranging, and reusing topics is easy with Author-it.
