XML Elements - Book object

Author-it XML Format for Translation

Data within the following elements should be translated:

VariableAssignments

The variable names and values that are used within the book, if not defined in a topic. Variable Assignment element

PrintByLine

Authors attribution as appearing on a document's title page, e.g. "By John Smith"

PrintTitle

The title as appearing on a document's title page, often the same as object Description element.

PrintSubTitle

The sub title as appearing on a document's title page

PrintSuperTitle

The super title as appearing on a document's title page

PrintVersion

The version as appearing on a documents title page, e.g. "Version 1.0"

HelpCitation

Defines a citation that is appended to any text a user prints or cuts out of your Help system.

HelpCopyright

The copyright notice that is included in a windows help file

HelpTitle

The document title for a help file, often the same as object Description element.

WebByLine

Authors attribution for HTML outputs, e.g. "By John Smith", often the same as PrintByLine element.

WebSuperTitle

The super title as appearing in HTML outputs, often the same as PrintSuperTitle

WebTitle

The title as appearing in HTML outputs, often the same as object Description element.

WebVersion

The version for HTML outputs, e.g. "Version 1.0", often the same as PrintVersion element.

Data within the Object element should not be translated:

ID

Internal ID used within Author-it to identify the object, not visible to user.

GUID

ID used by Author-it to identify an object and allocated at object creation time. Can be considered unique across all libraries (though translated objects will share the same GUID).

Description

The object description as it appears within the Author-it editor. This is for internal purposes only and does not appear in any published outputs.
