A timeout is when the software logs a user out based on how long they've been connected to the service.
Author (RDP connection) timeout convention
- Whether active or idle, users are forcibly disconnected after 12 hours.
- Users who appear to have been disconnected in less than 12 hours probably have experienced a network disconnection, or their computer has gone into sleep mode.
- To avoid unexpected disconnection after 12 hours, log out and log back in again to restart the 12-hour countdown.
quick-editing mode and Reviews timeout convention
- Sessions time out after 20 minutes of inactivity.
