Author-it Cloud requirements & technical summary

A timeout is when the software logs a user out based on how long they've been connected to the service.

Author (RDP connection) timeout convention

  • Whether active or idle, users are forcibly disconnected after 12 hours.
  • Users who appear to have been disconnected in less than 12 hours probably have experienced a network disconnection, or their computer has gone into sleep mode.
  • To avoid unexpected disconnection after 12 hours, log out and log back in again to restart the 12-hour countdown.

quick-editing mode and Review timeout convention

  • Sessions time out after 20 minutes of inactivity.
