When using multi-variant publishing in Author, authors must select the variant-criteria values and variable values of each book variant they are publishing. Authors can save these values and load them later, so that they aren't required to enter them each time they publish.
-
In Author, select a book.
-
Select Publish > Multi-variant.
If the Multi-variant option isn't visible, contact a library administrator. They may need to grant you access to multi-variant publishing.
-
Click
to add a publishing job. Add as many publishing jobs as required. -
Select the locale, variants, and variables of each publishing job.
-
If a variant value needs to be empty or none, enter (none) as the value.
Note: If you leave a variant value empty, it will be saved as the first available option in the dropdown. You or other authors will be forced to delete the value next time you load the publishing job configuration.
-
Click
. -
Save the file. The file can be copied from this location, if you want to share it with others.
-
Next time you need to load the publishing job configuration, click Multi-Variant Publishing window.
