Installation

Unzip the supplied ResourceTranslator.zip file and copy the unzipped folder into the required Plugins folder.
The unzipped folder contains the following files:

ResourceTranslator.dll
-
DocumentFormat.OpenXml.dll
-
WindowsBase.dll
-
ResourceTranslator.xml
Configuration

Open ResourceTranslator.xml and edit the XML to point to a user-writable location for the rules, folder configuration and folder for the log files. By default this is %localappdata% but can be changed to X:\ResourceTranslator or any other location.

Define the a variant called TV_UI_Language as follows:

Open the library in Author-it Administrator.

Select Variables > Maintain Variables…

Click Add.

In the Name box, type <TV_UI_Language>

In the Type list, select List Of Values.

Next to the Value drop down list, click the browse button (…).

Click Add, and enter a language code, for example en-US.

Repeat the previous step until you have all supported languages.

When you are done, click OK.

Select This is a variant criteria.

Click OK.
-
Click OK to close Manage Variables.

Close Author-it Administrator.

Open your library and create a folder that will contain your imported software string topics. For example: _myStrings.
