When you migrate from Author-it On-Premises to Author-it Cloud, an Author-it consultant will use the Author-it Cloud Migration Toolkit on a copy of your database. Using a copy enables the consultant to make changes to objects and paths used by your database without affecting your users. It also means your users to continue to working right up to the time you are ready to go live, if your organization chooses.

Create a backup of your production database.

Restore a copy of this backup as the working copy for the Author-it consultant to use the Author-it Cloud Migration Toolkit on. Give the copy a different name to the production database.

Take note of the server and the user credentials used for logging in to this copy as the Author-it consultant will need them to connect to the database from the Author-it Cloud Migration Toolkit.
