The Contribute Editor is a typical text editor. Therefore text can be added by typing, or by using the standard keyboard commends such as cut, copy, paste and delete.
To edit a topic the edit mode must be activated.

Activate the edit mode
You can open a topic for editing by clicking the topic in the right pane. The Topic Toolbar is displayed at the top of the topic:
The Topic Toolbar gives you quick access to commonly used commands for working with topic content.
Apply paragraph and character styles
When you select a text line, the paragraph style is displayed on the right side of the Topic Toolbar in a gray box. The character style is displayed next to the paragraph style in a blue box when you select a text fragment.
You can change the style by selecting a style in the Topic Toolbar.

To apply a paragraph or character style:
Save a topic
After editing a topic in the right pane, the topic can be saved by selecting the topic title in the left pane. The topic editor is closed and the topic is automatically saved. It is also possible to save the topic and continue editing using the save drop-down menu see Book Content Pane - Caption
The topic is also closed and saved when another topic is selected for editing.
